First off, thanks for checking out this ad. Here’s essentially what I’m looking for :
A very talented Graphic Artist/Designer who can work with me on logos, signage and other marketing materials for several retail/restaurant concepts. I am ideally looking for someone who works independently, not with a firm. I don’t care about your previous job experience or how old you are, only the strength of your work and your ability to be flexible and mindful of the goals at hand. The ideal business relationship I am looking for is a partnership rather than just a single contracted job. I’d like to be able to meet and discuss ideas either at a coffee shop or my apartment (I’m based in the East Village so downtown Manhattan would be imperative), I need you to exercise your artistic and creative freedom but still be able to take criticism and direction. This is an ideal opportunity for a student or someone who is trying to build their business to gain exposure. I cannot pay a large amount at the beginning, but like I said I am looking for a long term partnership and should the relationship prove fruitful, anticipate much more work over the years as well as a great deal of exposure.
As far as myself, I have 8 years of very successful experience in the restaurant industry and am working on my first place here in NYC. I am confident this will be the first of many. As I stated before, I have no desire to leech your talent, by any means and am looking for a mutually beneficial working relationship. If you are interested please e-mail me with a portfolio of what you consider your best work (with emphasis on retail/restaurant/bar work) as well as a short paragraph explaining why you think you’d work well with me on these projects. Once we’ve corresponded a bit we can meet in person to further discuss the concept.
What I am looking for :
Someone who aspires to create an internationally recognized symbol. The designer of the next Disney or Coca-Cola logo. An intuitive person who can take a concept and run with it. Someone driven and willing to work with another driven person. Someone who recognizes the importance of deadlines and can help set realistic ones.
What I am NOT looking for :
A club flyer designer or copy-and-paster. Someone who cannot work within an agreed upon time table. Someone who gets caught up in their artistic vision rather than looking at the big picture and working for an overall solution that benefits the concept as a whole.
- Principals only. Recruiters, please don’t contact this job poster.
- Please, no phone calls about this job!
- Please do not contact job poster about other services, products or commercial interests.
